Citizen’s Right to Know (Access to Information) is vital for transparent and responsive good governance. It also serves as Oxygen for Democracy. This empowering tool, if applied prudently by people can help overcome many governance deficits and make institutions work for citizens.

In Pakistan since 2002, we have Freedom of Information law, but it remains under utilized by taxpayers to hold their government accountable. This program will help the citizens to understand Access to Information regime in Pakistan and learn enabling tools to use this law as active and engaged Citizens. Another purpose of the project is to assist in the implementation of a new Freedom of Information law, bringing greater accountability and transparency to Government and to develop public awareness of the right to be informed.
